Angels Win Again- #12 Sustains an Injury

Long time, no post! Ellis had game at his home court on yesterday, and THEY WON!!! The Angels spanked their opponents 16 to 4. Ellis was on the board for 2 points and 9 rebounds- Lil' Shaq in the house! He even received an injury in the 4th quarter. If you look really closely at the picture, you'll see the scratch right next to his lip. Of course, to hear Ellis tell the story, you'd think the little boy who scratched him had launched some vicious attack. It was so late in the game that the ref didn't even call the foul (and let's face it- our team really didn't need any more points). We're working on on-the-court attitude and confidence, but other than that Ellis is progressing nicely as a young athlete.

Little Ballers and Shot Callers

Ellis had his second basketball game with the Boys and Girls Club today and THEY WON (12-8)!! Ellis plays for the Billy Mitchell B & GC Angels- all little 6 and 7 year old ballers. They are so cute and so funny. They're very serious about winning, but most of them have no clue what they're doing. Anyway- that's our little baller- #12. He's really good at rebounding the ball and posting up (whatever that means- Yerik said it, so I wrote it). So, way to go Angels- here's to your first win!

Mother/Son Bonding

So Yerik has been home with Ellis nearly every day for two weeks, since Ellis has been out on Christmas break. I thought it'd be good for to plan a day with just Ellis and me and give Dad a break. So on Friday, I took off work and spent the day with the boy. We went bowling (Ellis beat me in one game) and out for lunch, then headed to the Rivermarket for some fresh air. Here are some pics of Ellis playing around at Peabody Park.

Welcome

Welcome to the Henderson Family's blog! Most people who start blogs do so because they have little ones or they are far away from family and friends and want to be able to stay in touch. We're starting a blog for neither of those reasons. We just think we're an awesome family and we want to share our zany, loving, caring selves with anyone who'll log on and read about us! Ha! So for those of you who happened upon our spot, we'll introduce ourselves.

Yerik: grizzly bear on the outside, teddy bear on the inside; loves hunting and fishing; does not love talking on the phone or meatloaf; works with kids; wonderful husband and father; minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; ambitious; hard working.

Leah: directionally challenged; brings out the best in others; knows how to make things happen; new student; not sure about some things in life but is sure about the following: SHE LOVES HER SOME JESUS, YERIK AND ELLIS!

Ellis: the life of the party; headstrong; teddy bear on the outside and inside; loves to give love; does not love to take showers; smart; curious; musical; artistic; just all around FUN
